Soooooooooo, here I am at SeaWorld for a 'behind the scenes tour.' I was intrigued by the orcas/killer whales, but was entertained by the gentle giant belugas. They are surprisingly very timid creatures. It had been raining for several days prior to this visit, and the water level in their habitat was higher than normal.
These magnificant creatures can sense the slightest difference in their surroundings The trainers had a hard time encouraging them to come close to us, due to the increase of the water at the ledge! Luckily, this brave girl swam forward to make sure I have the photo-and experience-of a lifetime. Did I mention that they are really SQUISHY???
Special thanks to adventure photographer
Berne Broudy for this amazing once-in-a-lifetime picture!

Thanks for your kind words. The BElugas do have a wonderful child-like quality, totally unlike the orcas, who seem to clearly understand that they are the top of hte Seafood Chain!
